World Baseball Classic:Team USA

As the World Baseball Classic begins on March 6, Team USA looks to re-establish itself as the global leader in baseball. After disappointing results in each of the first 3 tournaments, never finishing higher than fourth, Team USA is buying in.

With national pride at stake, it appears that in the 4 installment of the classic, the stars of the U.S. are ready to answer the call.

the U.S. rolls out a team with former MVP’s, batting champs, all-stars at nearly every position, and a rumored provisional roster that would only beef up what is already the nations most accomplished team to date.

One area of concern for the U.S. is starting pitching. With a rotation being lead by Tampa Bay ace Chris Archer coming off a down year in his own right, the starters must click sooner rather than later.  One positive regarding the pitching staff is a deep bullpen, anchored by Cleveland’s Andrew Miller, and rumors of former Cy Young  award winner David Price being on the provisional roster.

The classic provides a global stage for the stars of the game to showcase their talents. It only took 3 disappointing finishes for our nations best to fully engage, and I personally believe with the elite of the elite representing their countries we will have our most competitive tournament yet.

Prediction: FINALS:  Dominican Republic defeats U.S.
