Baseball has always been a big part of my life and I can attribute my love of the sport to my father. From my earliest memories I can remember him taking me to Giants Vs. Houston Astros games, my favorite team, whenever they would come into town.
Throughout my childhood I would go on trips with him around parts of the country to watch games in different stadiums and learn more about the game. He taught me about the sports history and legends like Willie Mays , Juan Marichal and George Brett.
One of the most unique baseball experiences I’ve had was on fathers days 1998 when we entered and won a contest to play catch in the outfield at Candlestick Park along with 19 other father/son combos. Being only 8 years old at the time I relished in the opportunity to run along a major league outfield pretending I would one day make a living doing the same.
Baseball always has and continues to be a bonding experience with my dad and still try to get a game of catch in with him at least once a year.
My personal experience playing baseball was great, I played little league throughout my childhood, and continued playing throughout high school. Once done playing in an official capacity I have played in competitive softball leagues in both Italy and the UAE.
I am also the 2015 fantasy baseball champion of my league, and proud owner of the Sandies!
